About Me (Dr. Priyadarshi Majumdar)

I have completed my Masters in Physics (Specialization in Electronics) and awarded Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Calcutta (awarded National Research Fellowships from DAE, DST and CSIR). As a Post-Doctoral Scientist I published about 40 International research papers(Visit: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Priyadarshi-Majumdar). Apart from core Nonlinear Dynamics my major research works are diversified in the fields of Condensed Matter Physics, Quantum Entanglement, Quantum Game Theory, Classical Gravity, Computational Biology & Bio-Statistics, Experimental Polymer Physics & Polymer Chemistry, Simulation & Modeling. My major research papers are published by American Physical Society, American Institute of Physics, World Scientific, Elsevier, IOP, Springer, Chinese Chemical Society, World Academic Press, ICTP Publications, Institute of Theoretical Physics (India) and Calcutta Mathematical Society. My research papers are indexed and reviewed by Mathematical Review, American Mathematical Society, DBLP: The Computer Science Bibliography (University of Trier, Germany), Smithsonian Nasa Astrophysics Data System, PubMed: US National Library of Medicine & National Institute of Health, Zentralblatt Math Database (European Mathematical Society). I was indexed as Physical Science Professional in UniPHY (American Institute of Physics), as Medical Science Professional in Maven Semantic Healthcare Database (Ireland). My biography was continuously published in the “Marquis Who’s Who in the World”, Marquis Who’s Who Publications, USA, 2012 onwards as Engineering & Science Educator, Electronics Professor & Research Scientist. Many of my research works were headlined by News Rx, Medical News Article on Theoretical Biology and Vertical News, Physics Week, Information Technology Week.

I also work as an Freelance Journalist and published about 60 educational/ General awareness/ analytical articles in leading Indian daily’s. I also coauthored eight books on Theoretical & Experimental Electronics/ Physics for undergraduate students. Presently I am working as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Electronic Science at Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College, Kolkata, India and Member of Under-Graduate Board of Studies of Electronics of West Bengal State University, India. Apart from this I also write rhythmic and square poetries (sonnet) with analysis and published two books already. I have organized few bulk businesses of art-n-craft also.

About My Art

Point Balancing Art is a typical performing installation art that may be created by either a single object or multiple object combinations. The entire assembly is balanced at a point. This typical rare art needs super-concentration, mind power, skill, patience, creativity, understanding of basic gravitational forces & torques and may be something more. I illustrate the subject with some of my point balancing arts performed in-house and other places with some common household/ other objects. Once I properly balance these objects (the gravity of the entire combination is being localized at a point) they remain still overnight. All my works are original installation art. I also added some videos through my youtube channel to show the stability of the balanced art works.

Whenever I see something in the house, I start thinking how I can put it at a point. Those things could be porcelain cups, glasses or may be steel glasses. I can make them strangely tilted on top of each other. I realized that not only small things like this, but also big and heavy things can be made to stand on a corner very quickly. I have materialized the point balancing of Multiple chairs, tables, wooden cupboards, gas cylinders, TVs, sofas etc. in due course. I usually put everything on a piece of brick or a glass bottle. According to mechanics, if torque does not work on an object or on a set of objects and only one vertical force acts downwards, then that object (or set) can stand at a point. But it is almost impossible to keep a large and heavy object standing on a single point because everything is supposed to fall even due to a slight push of the wind. So in this case the land is very small in size instead of a point and with the help of frictional forces it is possible to hold one or more objects (small or large) together on that tiny ground. I mastered this rare art controlled by my mind and hands. My perception is that acquiring skills in this field is not just a matter of habit, it is difficult to succeed in this sector without very strong psychological strength and patience. When I balance, I wander in a completely different world. Just before something is balanced, someone tells me from my inside to take off my hands because the balance is done, and it won't fall. It takes me only a few seconds/ minutes to balance different objects. Recently I balanced objects blindfold and even one handedly as well.
